Environmental Debt is Named One of the Best Books of June
Amazon.com named Environmental Debt: The Hidden Costs of a Changing Global Economy by Amy Larkin one of the best books of June in the Business and Leadership category. Environmental Debt exposes the important link between our growing environmental and financial crises. Between the billions of dollars it will take to restore the coast in the wake of Hurricane Sandy and rampant wildfires in the West, it is clear that we need to devote more time and resources to the environment. Larkin proposes a new framework for 21st century commerce based on government regulation of the environment, the idea that pollution comes with a price, and the notion that all decision making must incorporate the long term view.
Amy Larkin was the Solutions Director for Greenpeace USA until 2011. Through her consulting firm, Nature Means Business, she works with various environmental organizations. She is the Chair of the Advisory Board of Biomimicry NYC, and a Strategic Advisor to RESOLVE, the DC-based expert on building negotiated solutions to intractable public policy issues. She is Chair of the Board of the ARChive of Contemporary Music, the largest collection of contemporary music in the world.
